WHO ARE WE
SUZANNE ABOUT TOMEK
“From stainless steel countertop to field kitchen.”
Tomek grew up in a small village in Poland. He was always out exploring; in the woods, by the lake and in the fields around his house. He never liked to sit still; he preferred to chop wood, pick mushrooms and climb trees.
One day he went to the Netherlands to pick strawberries and after a few years started his career in the kitchen. He learned Dutch fluently, went to cooking school and became chef of a fantastic restaurant in Utrecht. In his free time he improvised amazing dinners with an extensive menu of special dishes at the pop-uprestaurant in our living room.
In 2010, Tomek hitchhiked from Cairo to Cape Town, inspired by Polish journalist Ryszard Kapuściński. He started out open-minded, perhaps even a bit naive, but enjoyed the challenges along the way. His curiosity and ingenuity made this journey a life-changing experience.
After this unforgettable escapade, he exchanged his backpack for a Toyota Landcruiser. He converted this into a tiny house, suitable for grand adventures. Together we followed the Silk Road in a six-month car journey through Central Asia. Later we took the Landcruiser for a 1,5 year overland trip in western Africa. Tomek tweaked his bush mechanic skills and effortlessly handled minor repairs in the blazing African sun or icy Siberian cold.
Tomek has returned to his home country and we live in southeastern Poland. This region has a lot to offer in terms of nature and culture. As an off-road instructor and experienced overlander, Tomek is happy to take you to the most beautiful places this part of Europe has to offer.
TOMEK ABOUT SUZANNE
“From fashion to four-wheel drives.”
Suzanne grew up in the south of the Netherlands. When she was little she regularly went on small exploration trips with her father Bert. They visited picturesque villages, obscure exhibitions, colourful markets and extraordinary churches. Her favorite game was when she could decide where to turn left or right. Long before the era of navigation systems, this was an exciting way to get lost and discover new places.
The Netherlands is a small country and Suzanne always has been curious about what goes on beyond the borders. Besides obtaining her degree in fashion in The Netherlands, she studied in London and Paris. She regularly traveled to distant countries for holidays and work trips.
But in the end, nothing beats a car trip where she can decide where and when to stop, sleep and eat. With complete dedication, she dived into the preparations for our overland trips through the formerSoviet states and through the Sahara to West Africa.
Although the aim is to experience as much freedom as possible on such a journey, some things simply have to be planned. And Suus is very good at that. Figuring things out, organizing and making contacts to get information.
Besides Dutch she speaks English, Polish, French and German. But even if she doesn't know the local language, she knows how to get by. She has a casual way of communicating which makes people feel at ease and bridges language barriers. With her sense of humor she knows how to turn challenging situations into a fun experience.
Suzanne has a flawless sense of navigation and is excellent at spotting unique places. Full of enthusiasm and energy, she is ready to roll up her sleeves and turn every day into a new adventure.
We have one big thing in common;
WE WANT YOU TO EXPERIENCE SOMETHING TRULY UNIQUE

The all-terrain vehicle functions as a means of transport, a place to sleep, anopen-air restaurant and a magnet for curious locals. At the campfire we can tell you the most excitingstories about the
surprises and challenges we encounter along the way.
Spending the day out in the fresh air, exploring the most beautiful routes in a 4WD and getting to know local people and customs along the way. And the great thing is, you don't have to go that far at all. We fell in love with the eastern part of Europe: the untouched nature, the beautiful tracks, the local traditions and beautiful people.
And we want to show this to others.
As local guides, we've scouted the region's best-kept secrets and are eager to share them with you on an
